Unlike many other classes of objects, faces share the same overall configuration of parts and the same scale. The convolutions in depth of the face surface vary little from one face to the next, and for the most part, the reflectance distributions across different faces are also very similar. The result of this similarity is that faces seemingly contain few distinctive features that allow for easy differentiation. Despite this fundamental difficulty, human face recognition is fast and accurate.

The fig 1 shows the face images with SIFT features from the AT&T face database. The results of these methods showed much better response, particularly when used for smaller training sets. The matching criteria of a particular feature to another feature depend on the distance between them. But SIFT shows certain deficiencies in case of face recognition. Facial images have fewer structures with high contrast or high-edge responses in facial images as compared to general objects.

Reflections on Bipolar disorder and Comorbid Conditions in Young Adults pdf

We have all been faced with this task before in our own childhoods, when we moved from a sense of magical omnipotence to begin the discovery of our true selves. We were able to accomplish this transition often because of the support we received from the people in our lives who cared for us - just as our participants in our programs receive today. This is why treating the whole person, not just the diagnosis, is critical.

Psychophysically Inspired Bayesian Occlusion pdf

We have discovered and modeled similarity maps that exist in facial domains by means of Bayesian Networks. The proposed model is capable of efficiently learning and exploiting these maps from the facial domain. Hence it can tackle the occlusion uncertainty reasonably well. Improved recognition rates over state of the art techniques have been observed. Keywords: face Recognition, Occlusion Models, Similarity Measures, Bayesian Networks, Parameter Estimation.
